大学生の社会人基礎力の育成において学生自主的な活動支援部署は大きく貢献すると期待される。国立大学法人山口大学における山口大学学生自主活動ルームの設立では,運営目的を明確にし,部署の名称や使われる言葉の定義づけに留意した。また学内予算取得を考慮して学内における組織の位置づけを確定させた。採用基準を明確にして選考に応じたコーディネータの採用や各種広報活動も功を奏し,現在学生の自主的な活動支援部署として効果的に機能している。
