Clinical usefulness of sensitive hCG testing in obstetrics and gynocology

Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a glycoprotein hormone secreted by the human placnta throughout pregnancy. Determinations of urinary hCG have been useful aids for the diagnosis of pregnancy. In particular, recent develoiment of the sensitive assay kit for urinary hCG is promising for differential diagnosis of abnormal pregnacy or trophoblastic dicrease. This paper shows our recent data about the values of hCG detetminitions in clinical practice.
