Descriptions
The metabolic activity of the brain regions of rats during the rising phase of fever was studied with the [^<14>C] deoxyglucose ([^<14>C] DG) technique. The autoradiogram, which was obtained 45 min after the injections of the pyrogenic substance and [^<14>C] DG, was examined visually and analyzed by ratio of [^<14>C] incorporation into selected brain regions to that of the corpus callosum. Fever was induced as follows (1) single injection of endogenous pyrogen (EP) into the preoptic/anterior hypothalamic region (POAH)
