Descriptions
Atrophy of the cell or the tissue is known to show minimal change in ail regressive changes. There are many diseases which cause atrophy of cells or tissues. Especially, in them, amyloidosis cause typical pressure atrophy. Moreover, tumor cells cause pressure atrophy of cells adjacent to them. However, to author's knowledge, there are a few literatures about the electron microscopic observation of pressed atrophic cells. The author reports about the observation of the changes of organells with electron microscope in pressed liver cells of human amyloidosis (2 cases) and experimental amyloidosis of mice (5 cases) and in liver cells pressed by proliferation of metastatic tumor cells (9 cells). There were few differences in fine structure between them.
