内容記述(抄録等)The soils at Akiyoshidai, Chojabara and Nishidai grasslands in Yamaguchi prefecture were studied for their general agrochemical and physical characteristics, and, as all of them showed large phoshate adsorption, the pot tests on the effect of phosphate application to each surface soil were crried out. The results obtained were as follows; Akiyoshidai: The soil was derived from limestone, and characterized by a fine texture and fairly large phosphate adsorption for a soil of non-volcanic ash origin. The surface soil exhibited moderately-developed granular structure and nearly neutral reaction, probably depending on therecent lime application. The effect of increasing phosphate application was very little. Chojabara: The soil was derived from andestic volcanic ash, and characterized by acid in reaction, light clay in texture and large phosphate adsorption. The humus content and phosphate adsorption, however, were rather low for common so-called volcanic ash soil. The soil showed the lowest productivity for Italian ryegrass among three soils examined, and an effect of increasing application of phosphate was considerably recognized. In that case, however, neutralization of soil acidity offered a littele promotive effect. Nishidai: The soil was derived from basaltic volcanic ash, and characterized by strong acid in reaction, light clay in texture and very large phosphate adsorption. The surface soil was having fairly high carbon content and CEC. The soil exhibited the most distinguished effect of increasing phosphate application among three soils examined, and the effect was clearly promoted by liming. Much application of phosphate with neutralization of soil acidity brought the same yield of Italian ryegrass with Akiyoshidai soil. (Received June 30, 1977)
